She was just a baby when her family crowed into one room, wall to wall beds, on their first mission trip in the country of Jamaica. It was not an easy trip as the ministry and lodging were very challenging for all of us even those who were mission trip veterans. Her daddy was leading open air evangelistic services. Her mom was braving having her family in a not so secure situation. They all did well and the new baby did well and we have memories of those who came to Christ.

I am talking about Chelsea Newnum, the youngest daughter and child of Doug and Debbie Newnum. Chelsea is a freshman at Turkey Run High School. She is a starter on their varsity basketball team. Last Saturday here team won the sectional tournament. Chelsea was awarded the All-Sectional First Team honors. She was the only freshman to recieve the award as a freshman.

I have seen tears role down Chelsea cheeks in worship services where she sensed God speaking to her heart. I have seen her kneel at altars and submit to God's will for her life. It is wonderful to see hard work pay off. It is even greater to see a seeker of the Lord Jesus Christ being blessed.
